Vastu Aaya Calculation
Aaya is a traditional method from Vastu Shastra used to assess the suitability and auspiciousness of a house plan based on its dimensions. This ancient technique helps determine the Aaya type, which is closely linked to the energy flow and prosperity of the home.
Step 1: Measure the Inner Dimensions
Begin by measuring the internal length and width of the house—excluding the wall thickness. Multiply these two values to get the total usable area of the house.
Step 2: Multiply the Area by 9
Take the total usable area and multiply it by 9. This step is based on traditional Aaya calculation principles found in ancient texts.
Step 3: Divide the Result by 8
Now divide the result from the previous step by 8. This division gives a number with a decimal, which helps in identifying the Aaya type.
Step 4: Calculate the Remainder
Focus on the decimal part of the result. Multiply this decimal portion by 8 to get a whole number. This whole number, known as the remainder, will be between 0 and 7.
Step 5: Identify the Aaya Type
Use the remainder to determine the corresponding Aaya type:
- 1 – Dhwajaya (Flag House)
- 2 – Dromaya (Drum House)
- 3 – Simhaya (Lion House)
- 4 – Sunakaya (Dog House)
- 5 – Vrushabhaya (Bull House)
- 6 – Karayashaya (Elephant House)
- 7 – Gajashaya (Elephant House)
- 8 – Vayasaya (Horse House)
Each Aaya type carries specific energies and is believed to influence the fortune and wellbeing of the house’s residents.
